Scott Telford

Following graduation from Carlyle High School in 2003, Scott left immediately for boot camp with the US Navy. While in the Navy, he graduated from the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Training Command and the U.S. Navy Diver Training School. Scott served for six years as a Nuclear Electrician and Diver.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, he began work as an Operations Supervisor for Suncoke Energy in Granite City.

Scott has always been focused on fitness and regularly attends CrossFit Edwardsville workouts! He acquired his CrossFit Level 1 in July 2012. He also obtained his CrossFit Gymnastics in July 2015 and his CrossFit Mobility certificate in September 2015.

GoRuck Tough, June 2014; GoRuck Heavy, May 2015; Scott has also competed in numerous team competitions.

He always finds new ways to push himself to new heights during his own workouts so he is every bit of motivating and encouraging to other athletes. He is very enthusiastic and excited to help athletes blow past their goals. He loves helping people understand exactly what they are capable of and to steer clear of the mindset “I can’t.” Scott’s workouts are guaranteed to be fun and challenging, while incorporating team-based programming.

Scott is currently working on explosive power as well as the gymnastic side of CrossFit while maintaining his overall conditioning. He looks forward to the upcoming events in the CrossFit community and hopes to compete as often as possible in addition to motivating others to compete.

Outside of CrossFit and Suncoke Energy, Scott enjoys anything outdoors with his lovely wife Whitney and their dedicated CrossFit dog Pedro. He golfs as much as he can and enjoys exploring new areas in any field. Scott follows the Paleo diet as strictly as possible and still enjoys his favorite “cheat” meal, pizza with a cold beer! If there is a Chicago Bears game on you can bet he is watching and cheering with his wife Whitney. Scott welcomes new athletes to CFE, "the hardest part is showing up, welcome to our family / community!”
