Luke Sanchez

Luke grew up in O'Fallon, IL and graduated from Bowdoin College, in Brunswick, ME, in 2013 degree in Romance Languages. He studied abroad for a year while there living half of the year in Madrid, Spain and the other half in Milan, Italy. He loves good food and a great adventure.

Luke participated in varsity cross country and track for all four years in in high school and was a four-time state qualifier.  He played club rugby in college but during his final year of college he found CrossFit and was immediately hooked. Through CrossFit, he has learned the art of Olympic Lifting which became of his favorite things to practice. He became a member of CrossFit Edwardsville in August 2013 and acquired his CrossFit Level 1 in April 2014. Shortly after he joined Team CFE that same year.

He has competed in several competitions placing 2nd with his team in the Fittest Team in the Metro East 2015, received 3rd place in the Icebreather Classic in 2015. “As a cross country runner, I was never able to lift much weight and after starting CrossFit, I have seen my strength greatly increase. Who doesn't love throwing around heavy weight? Nothing beats the CrossFit community. Everybody is there to better themselves in one way or another and that helps to grow strong bonds between athletes. I love being around this group of individuals and having the opportunity to coach them. Watching an athlete excel in something that they thought they could never do, through your guidance and coaching, is one of the best feelings out there.”

He currently works as an Unemployment Insurance Consultant at a company called Equifax in St. Louis, MO. and resides in Edwardsville with his fiancée, Courtney.
